SyntaxAndStories has been in development for months. What started as a simple Django blog app slowly turned into something I actually want to use every day: a platform built specifically for developers who write.

Not a side section of a general social network. No a Medium clone. A place where Syntax And Stories live together

What's under the hood

• Real time messaging via Django channels + Redis – with typing indicators, read receipts, and online status, chat reactions
• Smart feed ranking – engagement scoring with time decay, follow bonuses, and author diversity caps
• Live search – PostgreSQL full-text search, debounced, keyboard navigable (try Ctrl/CMD + K)
• Full social layer – follow, block, privacy settings, comment controls
• Draft – create drafts and publish them when you want, draft auto save as you create.
• Live notifications – Receive toast notifications from likes, comments, and saves
• Mentioning – Users can mentions other users
• Rich-text editing
• Premium features rolling out soon!

Why I built this

I'm 19, self-taught, building from Assin Foso, Ghana. I started learning python in late 2025 after completing Senior High School education and SAS became the project where everything clicked – async consumers, feed algorithms, Websocket handshakes at 1am.

This platform is for developers like me. People who think in code and write about it anyway.
